Tates Creek. This run of Tates Creek is not a place for novices to come kayak paddling solo. The Kentucky 418 to Kentucky River portion has a span of 1.8 miles; you bump into this section of whitewater on Jouett Creek. It's a type IV section. You might get covered with water raft
