Nearby there is a perfect 5-mile-from-beginning-to-end class II-IV whitewater stretch, the Sandwich Notch to Campton Hollow section of Beebe River. You might get dripping wet kayak paddling this stretch of Beebe   River, so you should be prepared for that. Near Little Holland Court is a good 1.5-mile-in-length sweep of whitewater on Smarts Brook, a category V, this is the Thornton segment. The Thornton segment of Smarts Brook is proposed for proficient raft paddlers solely. A great 7.8-mile-long whitewater run on Mad River is nearby. This, the Highway 49 Bridge to Campton sector, is a category III-IV. Don’t count on staying dry kayak paddling this run of Mad River if by chance you're not an experienced whitewater paddler. The 1-mile-in-length Gorge sector is a class III sector of whitewater on Mad River. If you don’t want to risk getting covered with water this part of Mad River is in all probability not for you. Always check the situation in advance of a trip whitewater kayaking and rafting because whitewater kayaking and rafting is a dangerous thing to do. A round of golf at nearby Oak Hill Golf Course is a glorious way to kill some time, and do schedule some time to stop at Center Harbor Neck if you have a chance.
