The 2.3-mile-from-beginning-to-end Troy to Webb portion is a class III-IV portion of whitewater on Ashuelot River - South Branch. When the conditions are right this stretch of Ashuelot River - South Branch is an enjoyable   stretch of river for whitewater paddling. You find the 7-mile-in-length South Royalston to Athol section of Millers River close by; this is a class II-III whitewater part. By and large this part of Millers River is an exciting place for raft paddling. A category V, 6-mile-long whitewater section can be found on close by Contoocook River - North Branch, the Route 9 and 123 to Hillsboro Fire Station segment. This section of Contoocook River - North Branch is suited for kayak paddlers who have been whitewater kayaking or rafting for a while. Raft paddling can turn dangerous, so check current conditions in advance of a trip.
