The 1,280-foot vertical drop at nearby ski resort Hickory Ski Center is great; it has 18 ski slopes blanketed by 3 feet of beautiful snow per winter, served by 4 lifts. The black and red trails at West Mountain account for 9% of the trails, and they are exceptionally great; beginners and children are in luck too, 91% of the 124 acres of terrain are covered by green and blue trails. West Mountain close by is a good ski mountain with a great 1,010-foot drop served by 5 lifts; it has 22 trails and gets blanketed by 7 feet of good snow per season. Bayfront Cottages gets a normal amount of annual rain; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is January. Near   Bayfront Cottages you locate a golf course called Hiland Park Country Club, and an afternoon playing golf at Queensbury C C Golf Course is always a diversion. This close by run of whitewater is a grade I. This run of Hudson River is proposed for beginner whitewater boaters. The Sherman Island to Feeder Dam section on Hudson River is a close by class I-V whitewater bit, 6.4 miles long. This bit of Hudson River is an amusing bit for paddling. Whitewater kayaking or rafting could become hazardous, so check restrictions before you go. Through the days of summer at Bayfront Cottages highs are usually in the 70's.
