North Fork, the 2.5-mile-long Linville segment. This segment of Catawba River - North Fork is advised for expert raft paddlers only. A close by category II whitewater run can be encountered on North Toe River; the Plumtree to Bush Rd/Rt. 19E section is 10 miles long. If by chance
you would like to get dripping wet, this run of North Toe River is probably not for you. If you're seeking a grade IV-V+ whitewater run to paddle, you're in luck; the Linville Falls to Lake James segment is a great 16.4-mile-from-beginning-to-end piece of Linville River. This segment
