On Sandy River nearby you come upon the 4.5-mile-from-beginning-to-end McNeil Campground to Lolo Pass Road portion of type IV whitewater. You might get drenched whitewater rafting or kayaking this bit of Sandy River, so you should be prepared for that. On close by Sandy River you
come across a class II-III stretch of whitewater; the Lolo Pass Road to Marmot Dam segment is 13.5 miles long. Don’t count on continuing to be dry whitewater rafting and kayaking this stretch of Sandy River if you're not an expert kayak paddler. Check circumstances prior to departure
