Mahoning Inn is a glorious 12.5-mile-long run of whitewater on Lehigh River, a class II-III, this is the Rockport to Glen Onoko portion. The Rockport to Glen Onoko portion of Lehigh River is suggested for raft paddlers of medium practice. A delightful 13.8-mile-in-distance whitewater
sweep on Lizard Creek is nearby. This, the Pennsylvania Route 309 to Kittitiny Road section, is a category I-III. The Pennsylvania Route 309 to Kittitiny Road section of Lizard Creek is suited for paddlers who have been whitewater paddling for a while but who are not yet set for
the genuinely risky rapids. The 5.6-mile-from-start-to-finish Confluence with Broad Run to mouth section is a class II-III section of whitewater on Nesquehoning Creek. For whitewater boating this segment of Nesquehoning Creek is an enjoyable place. You find the 6.6-mile-long Hudsondale
to mouth portion of Black Creek nearby; this is a type II-IV whitewater section. This section of Black Creek is a cool section for raft paddling. A class II-III, 9-mile-long whitewater section can be found on nearby Lehigh River, the White Haven to Rockport segment. By and large
this section of Lehigh River is a cool place for whitewater rafting and kayaking. Don't go whitewater rafting and kayaking in advance of first checking conditions; it's treacherous matter. The high level of rain makes Mahoning Inn a quite wet location; the wettest month of the
year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February.
Beltzville State Park is a pleasant place to explore on a delightful day, and at Mahoning Creek Dam close to Mahoning Inn there are some exciting things to see. When the darkness of
nighttime has descended over Pennsylvania and just the hedgehogs are up the time has come to call it a day and go to sleep. From Mahoning Inn you get a delightful panorama of Mahoning Hills.
