There's a good 8-mile-from-beginning-to-end type II-III whitewater stretch on Rio Grande close by, the Redford to Colorado Canyon sector. This stretch of Rio Grande is a fun stretch for kayak paddling. Don't go kayak paddling in advance of first checking conditions; it's dangerous matter.
