on West River. It's a class II-III segment. If you boast a bit of kayak paddling familiarity, this section of West River may be a perfect site for you. If you enjoy whitewater, there is the Metcalf Road to Jamaica State Park segment, a type III-IV whitewater stretch on Ball Mountain
Brook, 3.5 miles in distance. This stretch of Ball Mountain Brook is proposed for paddlers of medium experience. Check restrictions in advance of a trip on the whitewater, otherwise it's not safe. Alpenrose Inn is a wet location that gets a lot of rain; the month of August
is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Gale Meadows Dam is wonderful and it's near Alpenrose Inn, and don't leave without stopping by Emerald Lake State Park. If you’re going for a vacation, what better location
