Bolton Valley has 165 acres of ski terrain; 26% of the trails are demanding while 74% are intermediate or beginner. Bolton Valley has magnificent trails to suit any ability. The 60 trails of Bolton Valley are all enjoyable and are served by 6 different ski lifts. The height difference is 1,634 feet, and this ski hill obtains 25 feet   of fluffy snow per year. On nearby Little River - West Branch you find a category II(IV) run of whitewater; the Fosters to Recreation Path parking lot segment is 3 miles long. You might get covered with water raft paddling this run of Little River - West Branch, so you should be set for that. Winooski River has a close by whitewater segment; the Middlesex to Waterbury segment is a good 5-mile-long class I(II) segment of whitewater. If you exclusively have very little skill in whitewater boating, this segment of Winooski River could be a good whitewater boating segment. On Little River you find the close by Waterbury Reservoir to Winooski River portion. This is a type I(III), 2.5-mile-from-beginning-to-end sweep of whitewater. Don’t depend on remaining dry whitewater paddling this sweep of Little River if you're not an proficient raft paddler. The 1st Hydro Dam to Winooski River section has a length of 2 miles; you find this part of whitewater on Mad River. It's a category II-III+(V) part. Raft paddlers on this part of Mad River should hold quite some knowledge in whitewater boating. Nearby you discover the Kimball Road to Route 12 section, a type II-III segment of whitewater. It's a great 3-mile-long segment on Minister Brook. This section of Minister Brook is proposed for raft paddlers of medium know-how. For your security you should always check current conditions before going paddling. You're sure to come across some wonderful folks from Barre here; one of the dominant highlights of the surroundings of Commodores Inn is Sunset Hill. So many amusing things in the Green Mountains, just extraordinary. There's a great forest near Commodores Inn called Stowe Municipal Forest; playing golf is lots of fun at Stowe Country Club.
