This close by ski area obtains 12 feet of fluffy snow per season and has a drop from top to bottom of 1,334 feet. 70% of the ski runs at Bromley are blue and green. Of the 300 acres of skiable terrain 30% is black and red; there's something for everybody at Bromley. The 6-mile-in-length Somerset Reservoir to Searsburg Reservoir section is a category I-II section of whitewater on Deerfield River - East Branch. Paddlers on this stretch of Deerfield River - East Branch don’t need lots of practice in whitewater boating. You find the 4.5-mile-in-distance Searsburg Dam to Harriman Reservoir section of Deerfield River nearby; this is a type III whitewater part. This part of Deerfield River is appropriate for whitewater paddlers who have been paddling for some time but who are not yet ready for the very risky rapids. The close by grade III-IV, 3.5-mile-long Metcalf Road to Jamaica State Park portion of whitewater on Ball Mountain Brook is lots of fun. The Metcalf Road to Jamaica State Park portion of Ball Mountain Brook is suggested for raft paddlers of medium skill. There's a fine grade III+ run of whitewater nearby on Winhall River, the 4.5-mile-in-length Grahamville School Road to Winhall Campgrounds section. The Grahamville School Road to Winhall Campgrounds section of Winhall River is suggested for paddlers of medium experience. A close by class III-IV whitewater section is to be found on Wardsboro Brook; the North Wardsboro to West River sector is 4.5 miles long. The North Wardsboro to West River sector of Wardsboro Brook is fitting for paddlers who have been whitewater kayaking and rafting for some time but who are not yet set for the really perilous rapids.
