The East Vail Exit (I-70) to Eagle River segment, a whitewater stretch on Gore Creek is 9.2 miles in distance. This nearby stretch of whitewater is a category III-IV. This segment of Gore Creek is well suited for paddlers who have been whitewater paddling for some time but who
| | are not yet set for the genuinely hazardous rapids. This section of Cross Creek is suitable for whitewater paddlers who have been whitewater rafting or kayaking for some time. The Redcliff to Tigiwan Rd portion on Eagle River is a nearby class IV-V(V+) whitewater stretch, 4 miles long. This part of Eagle River is wonderful for those with much whitewater skill. There's a great 0.25-mile-long grade V whitewater bit on Homestake Creek close by, the 1/4 mile above confluence with Eagle River portion. This bit of Homestake Creek is fitting for kayak paddlers | |
|
who have been kayak paddling for a while. Nearby there is a good 7-mile-from-beginning-to-end category III whitewater segment, the Riverbend bus stop to Edwards portion of Eagle River. This portion of Eagle River is good for those with a little raft paddling know-how. Always check
current conditions ahead of going raft paddling because raft paddling is a perilous activity. Enjoy a round of golf at Vail Golf Club not far from Vail Cascade Resort and Spa, and Vail Cascade Resort and Spa is not far at all from Edwards. Summertime highs at Vail Cascade Resort
and Spa mostly tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Vail Cascade Resort and Spa all through the winter regularly drop into the 0's.
