Nearby there is a perfect 5.6-mile-in-distance category IV whitewater part, the Route 183 Bridge to Route 8 Bridge sector of Sandy Brook River. This sector of Sandy Brook River is advised for raft paddlers of medium familiarity. Near Blackberry River Inn is a glorious 22.5-mile-from-start-to-finish sweep of whitewater on Housatonic River, a class II-III, this is the Falls Village Hydro to Kent sector. This sector of Housatonic River is fitting for kayak paddlers who have been kayak paddling for a while but who are not yet set for the very risky rapids. A good 2.25-mile-from-start-to-finish whitewater part on Farmington River - West Branch is nearby. This, the Lower New Boston section, is a grade II-III.
