Vail has 5,289 acres to ski on; 60% of the ski trails are intermediate or beginner which is good for learners; 40% of the ski trails are demanding. Near Arrowhead Village is a splendid 7-mile-long part of whitewater on Eagle River, a type III, this is the Riverbend bus stop to Edwards section. This section of Eagle River is recommended for kayak paddlers of medium knowledge. A good 17.4-mile-long whitewater sweep on Eagle River is close by. This, the Edwards to Eagle sector, is a category II-III. This sector of Eagle River is well suited for whitewater boaters who have been whitewater kayaking or rafting for some time but who are not yet set for the truly perilous rapids. Don't go whitewater kayaking or rafting in advance of first checking the latest conditions; it's perilous stuff.
