a good trip, Great Falls Park is pretty near. Peters Point is quite in the vicinity of Doubletree, and Greenbelt Park is a brilliant site nearby. Doubletree is near Rock Creek Valley which is beyond doubt worth checking out. Near Doubletree is a great 4-mile-long part of whitewater
on Rock Creek, a class II-III+(V), this is the Above Military Road to Pierce Mill Dam portion. The beginners should almost certainly stay away from this part of Rock Creek. A wonderful 4-mile-long whitewater segment on Rock Creek is close by. This, the Military Road to Potomac
River in D. segment, is a class I-III. Overall this segment of Rock Creek is an amusing place for whitewater paddling. The 4.5-mile-from-start-to-finish Ohio Street to Arlington Ridge Road sector is a grade III sector of whitewater on Four Mile Run. This sector of Four Mile Run
is a mid difficulty section for paddling. A type I-III(V+), 8-mile-long whitewater section can be found on close by Anacostia River - Northwest Branch, the US Route 29 to Hyattsville portion. For proficient whitewater boaters this section of Anacostia River - Northwest Branch is
an amusing place to paddle. The close by grade I, 10-mile-long Highway 3 to Potomac sector of whitewater on Anacostia River is heaps of fun. You are not expected to get dripping wet paddling this run of Anacostia River. Whitewater rapids are treacherous things, so you should check
conditions prior to departure. A normal amount of rain falls here at Doubletree; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most while February is frequently the driest month.
