There's a nice 700-foot altitude difference to take pleasure in at the close by ski resort Whaleback. Whaleback receives 9 feet of wonderful snow yearly, and has 7 lifts serving the 28 slopes. The easy slopes account
for 67% of the slopes at Whaleback; no wonder this ski resort is such a nice site. The red and black slopes make up 33% of the 60 acres of skiable land at Whaleback. Ski down the 57 ski trails of Ascutney; this ski resort has a vertical drop of 1,800 feet. Ascutney has 6 good ski
lifts and has on average 8 feet of great snow every year. Blue and green ski trails make up 70% of the ski trails at Ascutney, and red and black ones make up 30%. There is a total of 150 acres of terrain; Ascutney is a good location to ski. The 22 trails at Suicide Six are all
great; the altitude difference is 650 feet at this ski hill. Suicide Six boasts 8 feet of good snow per season and has 3 great ski lifts to transport all the skiers up the mountain. The 100 acres of skiing land at Suicide Six is liked by skiers from far and wide. Suicide Six has
30% challenging trails and 70% beginner and intermediate trails. Near Courtyard you discover Great Hollow which is a good site to explore, and Carter Country Club is a golf course close by. Mascoma River has a grade V section of whitewater close by. The 0.33-mile-long Lebanon section
is pleasant to run. Taken as a whole this section of Mascoma River is a hard place for kayak paddling. Always check current conditions before heading out kayak paddling as kayak paddling is a dangerous pursuit.
