The Farad Powerhouse to Verdi portion of Truckee River is advised for whitewater boaters of medium know-how. Northstar at Tahoe has a drop from top to bottom of 2,280 feet and receives 29 feet of snow annually. With 25% of the trails being advanced and expert, and 75% of the 2,420 acres of skiing area being intermediate or beginner; there are magnificent trails for any ability at Northstar at Tahoe. At Granlibakken 5% of the ski runs are red and black while 95% are beginner and intermediate; everybody likes Granlibakken with its 10 acres of skiable terrain. The 2 great ski lifts at the nearby ski hill Granlibakken transport skiers up to the tops of the 1 ski runs at Granlibakken. This nearby ski hill gets covered by 17 feet of snow every winter and has a drop from top to bottom of 300 feet. 64% of the 655 acres of skiing area at Diamond Peak is blue and green, good for young ones and beginners. 36% of the trails on the other hand are advanced and expert and good for proficient skiers. Diamond Peak, the close by ski resort has 6 different ski lifts and boasts 25 feet of snow every winter on its 30 trails. The drop is 1,840 feet at Diamond Peak. 29 feet of snow fall every year on the 1,650-foot drop of Homewood, the close by ski resort. Homewood has 56 runs and 8 different ski lifts. 65% of the runs at Homewood are green and blue. Of the 1,260 acres of skiable area 35% is demanding; there's something for everyone at Homewood.
